Harlow POP UK is a brand-new initiative in security, safety, and well-being. This is a parent-owned, parent-led, and community-funded initiative. Harlow POP UK is a Parent equipped with professional experience that can be utilised within the local community to ensure the safety of a specified location; in essence, it is a security presence to protect our interests in our children's safety, whilst in education and the legal responsibility of their educational setting.

I have two children at a school in Harlow. I do not ever want to get the dreaded message, which unfortunately is now commonplace in the UK, that our children's school has found it necessary to go into Lockdown owing to a security incident, knowing that I have extensive experience in handling threats head-on as well as the commitment and desire to ensure the safety of my children & those within the educational setting.

That is the plan, to work within the public space areas around the school (NOT WITHIN THE SCHOOL) and challenge any forms of behaviour that can be deemed suspicious around the grounds of the school whether this is loitering, drug use, inappropriate behaviour towards members of the community, misuse of the playground outside the school grounds that our children use or acting in a manner that would require immediate engagement such as attempting to scale any fences or gates or photographing or videoing into the school grounds. These instances would challeneged, logged and reported to the appropriate local authorities.

Having over a decade of experience within the Security Industry at an array of levels, I have already opened a dialogue with my children's school regarding Security Concerns. These views have been expressed to the management of the school, and consultation has been offered on potential processes or modifications to the environment to make an effort to enhance security with regard to the perimeter of the facility.

I am currently working with national charities like Neighbourhood Watch, establishing approved schemes, and also taking over as Chair for the Harlow region to enhance the overall credibility of Harlow POP UK and establish a working network dedicated to the safety of the community within Harlow.

Channels for dialogue with local authorities are also being established via the Essex Police IAG (Independent Advisory Group). A formal application has been submitted, and I am awaiting the outcome of this. This is again to enhance the overall capability to provide a dedicated service to the local community and opening formal channels with the Police to communicate on areas of concern for the community.
